Helen Brosnan stars in Irish Womens opening 6N victories
Highfield's Helen Brosnan has featured in the Irish Womens team which has had their best ever start to a 6N campaign, beating France 7-5 in Dublin and overcoming Italy by 35 points to 17 in Rome on Saturday. The women have to finish in the top 4 of the 6N to gain automatic qualification for the 2010 Womens World Cup so 2 victories from 2 is a very positive step to achieving this important goal. Helen lined out at 12 in both games, following on from her stellar performance in the pre-Christmas friendly against England.
Highfield's Helen Jones and Chris Fanning were also part of the Irish training squad throughout January, Helen Jones also making the 6N squad of 28 and may hopefully feature before the end of the campaign.
